Description

NGC6910 is an open star cluster in Cygnus. It is the most prominent group of the stellar association Cygnus OB9, and is located in a large Ha region in the environment of the star Gamma Cygni (Sadr). Thus, although it is a small cluster with few stars, it is surrounded by an impressive environment of Ha emission clouds and bright scattered stars. So, I did a long exposure with the OSC camera and IDAS LPS-P2 filter, but I added even more shots with the Ha filter on the same camera. The Ha signal produced an increase in contrast that I've respected to highlight the presence of bands and clouds of dark dust that appear to break the continuity of the emission region. I separated channel B of the RGB image to identify the presence of blue light, and I intensified it slightly to emphasize its presence in the predominantly red background of the Ha emission. The entire photograph shows 2.9 x 2º of arc. The brightest star is Sard, gamma Cygni, which is actually much closer than the rest of the region. The cluster is located in the center of the image, where it occupies 11 arc minutes.
